Collecting tank systems
In areas where there is no public sewerage system, a collecting tank is often used. This usually requires road access so a sewage truck can get to the tank and empty it. We offer collecting tanks for both above-ground and buried applications.
Some counties and town councils are hesitant to approve buried collecting tank systems, sometimes accusing cabin owners of deliberately drilling drain holes in the bottom of the tank.
Our systems are equipped with an automatic flush counter so the number of flushes can be compared to the volume of sewage in the tank - eliminating the risk of foul play. As an extra precaution, the tank can be equipped with a level sensor that alerts the owner when remaining capacity is less than 50-100 flushes (depending on tank size). After 50-100 more flushes, the system blocks further use and the tank must be emptied.
Jets™ Biotank composting tank
If neither a public sewerage connection nor a collecting tank is an option to you, our Biotank could prove to be the right solution.
Designed to make composting less messy and more user-friendly, the Jets™ Biotank is an environmentally good solution to sewage handling challenges in remote areas. It composts the macerated sewage from our pumps efficiently.
Solids are trapped in the Biotank's filter. Excess fluids flow to the lower part of the Biotank, through a drain pipe and into the ground for filtration. The small fluid volumes can also be collected in small tanks (or even bottles), transported away and disposed of in the toilet back home.
Two Biotanks can be used to increase capacity.
Sewerage based systems
If a public sewer is accessible nearby, macerated sewage from our systems is easily pumped to the nearest connection point. This even applies to sewer connection points uphill from the cabin, and up to 100 yards from the cabin (long piping requires special pipe installation procedures).
Even our smallest vacuum pump, the 10NT, can lift discharged sewage 2 metres (6ft). The 10NT is our standard cabin systems pump. If more lift is required, the larger 15M pump will lift the discharged sewage up to 5 metres (15ft).
Discharging to a public sewerage system requires no special interfaces or precautions. The discharge side of our pumps operates under normal atmospheric pressure, separate from the vacuum side.
