No power (from battery or mains socket)

Signal loss from pump to VTS controller

Protection circuit on pump activated due to:
- power surge or short (error code OC1)
- earth-fault (error code OC2)
- motor overload (error code OC6)

Foreign object stuck in rotor/knife

Pump has frozen stuck

Solution

Check mains/battery plug and socket

Check power cable and fuse

Check signal cables and connections

Reset motor controller (VTS)
(disconnect power, wait 5 minutes, reconnect)

Foreign objects in mains power pumps:
Using a 5mm Allen wrench/hex key/Unbrako key at the motor end of the pump, turn the pump's shaft until it rotates freely

Foreign objects in battery operated pumps:
Remove the transparent inspection cover and remove the foreign object

Carefully apply heat to thaw the pump if it has frozen

Low fluid level

Discharge/outlet blocked

Leakage in pipes between toilet and pump

Foaming inside pump (due to excess amounts of soap or anti-frost)

Solution

Refill with water

Check piping installation between the pump and your sewage storing/processing unit

Check piping installation between toilet and pump

Remove foam, refill with water and run the pump

Posible causes

Loss of vacuum - most often due to:
- Collecting tank full
- Blocked air vent in collecting tank/Biotank
- Pump discharge/outlet pipe blocked by foreign object or frost
- Faulty non-return valve in toilet
- Faulty air/vacuum solenoid valve
- Faulty air/vacuum solenoid valve coil
- Leakage in the toilet valve's closing membrane or lifting membrane

Solution

Empty the collecting tank

Remove the blockage from the tank's air vent

Remove foreign object from, or defrost, the discharge/outlet pipe

Clean or replace non-return valve

Replace solenoid valve

Replave solenoid valve coil

Replace membranes

Possible causes

Wrong VTS controller settings

With mains water:
- Lack of or too low water pressure
- Water filter clogged
- Faulty water solenoid valve
- Faulty water solenoid valve coil

Without mains water:
- Water pump is not running
- Water pump is blocked due to clogging by a foreign object or bent water hose
- Faulty water pump

Solution

Check the VTS controller settings

With mains water:
- Check the water supply
- Clean the water filter
- Replace water solenoid valve
- Replace water solenoid valve coil

Without mains water:
- Check the water pump cable and connections
- Check the water hose and pump, remove any foreign objects
- Replace water pump

Possible causes

With mains water:
- Foreign objects in water solenoid valve
- Faulty water solenoid valve

Without mains water:
- Water pump is located above the water level in the toilet (siphoning effect)

Solution

With mains water:
- Clean water solenoid valve and remove any foreign objects
- Replace water solenoid valve

Without mains water:
- Place the water can and water pump at floor level

Possible causes

Leak in the toilet valve's closing membrane

Solution

Clean toilet valve and closing membrane

Replace closing membrane

Possible causes

Blocked discharge/outlet pipe from pump to storing/processing unit

Sewage backflow in the piping

Faulty non-return valve (if installed)

Solution

Remove blockage from discharge pipe

Check that piping installation conforms with our piping installation guide

Clean or replace ball in non-return valve
